THRUST team perticipated in a hackathon weekend "Ugninis skydas", organized by the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union. Our UAV StrikeFox was exhibited there as an example of successful idea-to-realization path.

AI plays a vital role in extracting valuable insights from large datasets efficiently. Yet, to achieve maximum effectiveness, finetuned AI solutions should be available at hand when needed. We are therefore very excited to have participated in the AI Ecosystem Forum, where the success of the AI4EU initiative and the AI-on-Demand platform were discussed. The ecosystem covers the projects under the umbrella of the ICT-49 calla, including Bonsapps, DIH4AI, I-NERGY, Stairwai and AI4Copernicus.

By leveraging AI algorithms, we can unlock the full potential of remote sensing technology to address pressing challenges in multiple sectors, including forestry. Being among the AI4Copernicus 5th open call winners, we had a pleasure to discuss different (potential) applications of satellite data and related challenges as well as present our "THRUST-4RESST: forest REmote Sensing via Satellite Technology" project during the AI4Copernicus community meeting in Athens.

Therefore, the Centre for Civil Education of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Lithuania invited THRUST to demonstrate our drones and advanced analytics on the collected multisensor data during the “Lithuania of Tomorrow” event of the Culture Night 2023. We are excited to enter the future with our cutting-edge UAV technologies!

Drone technologies can revolutionize forest inventories as we know it by providing a sharp remote eye inspecting vegetation at a tree level. As a final event of our feasibility study on drone-based remote sensing solution integration into processes of forestry policy and oversight institutions in Lithuania, we organized a conference with a UAV demonstration. We are glad that UAVs are finally recognized as a valuable tool for different types of forest inspections.

Remote sensing technologies have vast potential to increase accuracy and efficiency of forest inventories. While satellites and traditional aviation are usually considered, high-resolution multisensory data gathered with fixed-wing drones introduces higher precision and effectiveness standards. Our CBDO Gintautas Nedzveckas gave a presentation at a conference for "Remote sensing use opportunities in forestry, land-use monitoring and forest inventories". THRUST team has joined the Women TechEU initiative to promote female involvement in deep-tech businesses. In a series of articles THRUST female team members discuss their experiences in the unmanned aviation sector from the top-level manager's, researcher's, and UAV pilot's perspective. We were invited to demonstrate our UAVs during the Drone day organized by the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence. We chose our 25 kg MTOW class long-endurance GreenBee-Heavy and high-speed StrikeFox UAV platforms to represent our capabilities to enrich the Lithuanian drone fleet. Our project "THRUST - substituting helicopters with climate-friendly fixed-wing drones for infrastructure inspection" is among the 50 selected female-led deep-tech start-ups. We estimate that in EU alone, road infrastructure inspections require 93,7 million km driven each year. THRUST teamed up with Agmis and Kelių priežiūra to tackle this challenge by developing automated, drone-based road inspection system. AB Kelių priežiūra, which is a state-owned company responsible for the maintenance of more than 21,000 km of national roads, shared their viewpoint regarding this grounbreaking concept in a dedicated article.

The health of the electricity power grid is of strategic importance. Dominating overhead power lines are the most vulnerable to the elements. Therefore, regular infrastructure inspection and diagnostics is critical. An international team of THRUST® and partners perform aerial inspection of electricity power grid using advanced LiDAR 3D laser scanning technology and high-definition imagery to detect dangerous vegetation and infrastructure defects with maximum accuracy and precision. Using advanced analytics on the collected data, detailed actionable reports are provided to the client.
By 2022 our international team will have inspected close to 10 thousand kilometers of low- and medium-voltage power lines, supervised by the main electricity distributor in Lithuania AB “ESO”.

Highly biodiverse inland water ecosystems are extremely vulnerable and are strongly affected by fishing intensity, making continuous monitoring of fishing activities crucial. THRUST conducts drone-based aerial survey of anglers in one of the most productive Kaunas Reservoir. Our partners at the Gamtos Tyrimų Centras organized a seminar (program), where we presented our eco-friendly UAV-based inspection solution.

Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Solar power in Lithuania, our co-founder and CTO Robertas gave an invited talk at the National Solar Energy symposium. Interestingly, back in 2009 Robertas was the initiator and implementer of the first on-grid solar power plant in Lithuania. (Fun fact, UAVs and solar energy are more than compatible!)
